From Genesis to Revelation

Donald Cameron

44 Untils pinpoint our place in Bible prophecy

Currently the world is moving from major crisis to major crisis, with the world order threatening to collapse into global conflict, reminding us of the time which Jesus foretold of men’s hearts failing them for fear. At the same time He told us that when these things begin to happen, we should look up, as our redemption will be drawing nigh. Some of us believe that He could return for us at any moment to take us, His Church, to the place He has gone to prepare. Others think that the Church will live through the coming Great Tribulation before His return. Many do not know what to believe. Where can we find authoritative answers? The Bible contains many prophecies or statements with a prophetic element, preceded by the preposition ‘until’ or ‘till’. Some were fulfilled at Christ’s First Coming. Twelve of them are from the lips of our Saviour Himself. The outstanding benefit of these particular prophecies is that the ‘until’ dictates their position relative to other prophecies, eliminating much of the confusion caused by contrasting schools of prophecy. When the Bible says ‘until’ or ‘not until’, there can be no dispute. This book reviews forty-four such ‘untils’ from the Old and New Testaments. Several demonstrate a brief interval of intense tribulation between the Rapture and Christ’s highly visible return to destroy His enemies and rule with a rod of iron in a restored earth. In the absence of the Church during that interval, Israel will begin to return to centre stage. The Pre-Millennial, Pre-Tribulational return of our Saviour and many other truths are vindicated by the ‘untils’. This is Donald Cameron’s twentieth book on Bible prophecy. Donald was called up for National Service and made the Army his career. He was a lecturer in further and higher education and a Russian Interpreter. At the height of the Cold War he served as the British Liaison Officer to the Soviet Military Mission to the British Commander-in-Chief in Germany (SOXMIS). Later he was a leadership and team building consultant in industry. He and his wife, Greta, live in the Scottish Borders.
