Rays of the Messiah's Glory

David Baron

The New Testament begins with 'The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham,' immediately connecting the Lord Jesus with all the prophecies and promises of the Old Testament scriptures.

This book, written by a converted Jew, unfolds some precious truths concerning Christ in the Old Testament and will thrill the heart of the reader as he contemplates the glories of the Messiah.

'The following pages were written for Christians, to whom - especially to the British Christians - I dedicate it as a token of gratitude for having on their shores first heard of Him, faith in Whom has ever since filled me with 'joy unspeakable and full of glory;' and also as a token of appreciation of their endeavours to bring those to a knowledge of Christ, through whom in the first place their salvation came (John 4:22), and 'whose are the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises, whose also are the fathers, and of whom is Christ, as concerning the flesh, Who is over all, God blessed for ever.' - from the preface

The Crimond Classics series are timeless volumes reprinted for a new generation. Each one has been painstakingly retypeset for a fresh, modern look. We trust they will prove to be of value for today's reader.

About the author

David Baron (1857-1926) Born a Jew, Baron converted to Christ and co-founded the Hebrew Christian Testimony to Israel, a Christian missionary outreach organisation to the Jews. He was the author of several commentaries, particularly focusing on the fulfilment of the Old Testament prophecies in Christ. Like the apostle Paul, it could be said of him that his 'heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.'
